
Hub 4 Youths: Who is JUKE of LONDON? And what inspired the name?
Jude: JUKE of LONDON are an accessory and apparel company. We predominantly
sell eyewear aimed at juniors and adults who love London fashion and the flare that
comes with living in a global fashion city. JUKE was created by me, Jude Ugbehe
aged 8 and Kaelan Essel aged 11 – our initials make up the acronym name JUKE.
We knew from the start that our brand had to include our names. No other name
would be as meaningful or powerful.

Kaelan: Many companies aim accessories and fashion at young girls and younger
children. Us boys love fashion too and we believe everyone should be able to
express themselves without limitations. Your individual style should empower you
and demonstrate who you are without words, this is what JUKE is about. Jude and
I had an idea to create our own brand, a brand that ourselves and our peers could
identify with. A brand that is fresh, youthful and fearless. JUKE of LONDON takes our
vision of style and packages it into a fashion accessory that we can share with the
world. JUKE shows that boys and girls in London are more than just tracksuits and
hoodies. JUKES can keep up in the fashion world!
Hub 4 Youths: How does a young JUKE juggle school and business? And what advice would the
young JUKE creators give to aspiring young entrepreneurs?
Jude: Life of a JUKE can be very hectic! Not only do we have this amazing brand,
we also do a lot of activities outside of school. We love football and take part in
league games and competitive matches. We participate in swimming lessons,
tutoring and drama school, our week is very busy. We enjoy acting professionally; I
am signed with Mark Jermin Talent and Kaelan is signed with Bizzy Kidz Agency. We
make sure we find time to regularly submit self-tapes and attend auditions. We get
one rest day a week!
I am preparing for my 11+ test, while Kaelan just completed his and is preparing for
secondary school this year. We understand that education and knowledge is the
most powerful weapon we can possess in order to change the world!
Kaelan: The best advice we can give other young entrepreneurs is that you
should always dare to dream, be fearless and try everything. Trying is not a
failure, everything is a lesson and an opportunity to do better.

Kaelan: We are truly humbled by the support we receive from everyone. We love
that people love our authenticity and support JUKE of LONDON wholeheartedly. We
take complete pride in everything we do, from our products to our branding, to our
engagement with our customers. Our prestigious launch was only the beginning.
The brand exhibited at the Cocoa Kids Fest, we’re loving the movements. How did
the exhibition go for the brand and what is the secret to JUKE of LONDON’s growth
and brand awareness.?
Jude: It was a great success being exhibitors at the COCOA Kids festival. Not only
did we sell out most of our stock, we learnt how to deal with customers, place orders
and we got to meet other great vendors. It was such a great learning experience; one
we will never forget. There aren’t many children our age who get to learn so much
about business, networking and customer engagement. What started out as a fun
venture has also become an invaluable lesson in business.
Kaelan: The secret to JUKE of LONDON’s growth are our family and friends. Our
parents support us tirelessly. Our mums help with research, branding, product
selection, events, and social media. Our dads are maths geniuses and handle our
finances. Our friends believe in our products and help to repost and share all our
content. JUKE work hard, we believe in family, we dream without limitations and pour
everything we believe in into our brand. JUKES recognise JUKES, authenticity is the
secret to our growth.
Hub 4 Youths: What does 2022 look like for JUKE of LONDON?
Jude: We are super proud of how much we have accomplished in such a short
space of time. We have to remind ourselves often that JUKE of LONDON was only
launched 4 months ago, and we are just getting started. We have so many exciting
things planned for 2022. We want to exhibit at more festivals and pop-up shops, we
have new products being manufactured as we speak, we are in the process of
searching for brand reps and we have photoshoots planned for our Spring and
Summer 22 collection.
Kaelan: The goal is to get JUKE of LONDON products in big retailers or own our
own shop. We want to see JUKE sell internationally so JUKES around the world can
find accessories and apparel that represent who they are. We have loved seeing our
products in Sweden, Nigeria and Ghana so far. JUKE of LONDON will be a
worldwide brand.
