Hub 4 Youths: Who are the Young Kingz Podcast? And what was the inspiration for launching a Podcast?
Young Kingz: Young Kingz comprises of a group of 7 young boys between the ages of 11 – 13 years. The idea of
launching the podcast came by during the pandemic as an effort to find something productive for
young boys to do during lockdown, as they were not able to meet in person. Hence the idea of
starting this podcast was for the boys to reconnect with their peers and to discuss topics of
interest to their age group, play games and also have the privilege of interviewing multiple
influencers, business owners, mentors and more about career, life and hot topics. This podcast has
helped build confidence, deliver skills, increase positive behaviour and encourage good mental
wellbeing.
Hub 4 Youths: How does the Young Kingz balance school and podcasting? What advice would the Young Kingz
give to aspiring young Podcasters?
Young Kingz: We set a schedule of when to meet for podcasting and we make sure it does not get in the way of
school work. It’s all about maintaining a healthy and flexible balance of school work and
podcasting time. Our advice to aspiring young podcasters would be for them to pick interesting
subjects that they are passionate about, to enable them to attract a captive audience. They should
not be afraid to be themselves and to be dynamic and engaging.

Hub 4 Youths: Young Kingz Podcast has spoken with several Influencers, can you share a few names and
interesting topics covered?
Young Kingz: We have welcomed the following (just to name a few) :
Kwame Koranteng who is a renowned multi award winning bespoke tailor, stylist, fashion
consultant and entrepreneur. He spoke to us about how we can achieve our goals in life
and how we need to believe in ourselves and be self confident in order to achieve them.
Josie Gamble who is a Founder and Director at Christian Creative Directory, Christian
Creative Network and owner of Josie Gamble Designs. Josie spoke to us about her business
and her experience with graphic design.
Ayomilly, who is an independent singer/songwriter from Ontario, Canada. We discussed
how he uses music as a safe space to deal with things like loss and grief. He also shared
with us that in the past he was involved in certain street activities which unfortunately led
him to a close brush with death. This experience forced him to assess the life direction he
was taking and that’s what led him to change his life and become a force of positivity
through his music.
Gwenton Sloley, who is one of the founders of the London Gang Exit and also the CEO of
“Crying Sons”, which is a charity that aims to help authorities like the police, NHS staff,
Government and religious groups enter dialogue with possible gang members. It’s very
inspirational to see how far a man with a gang related past has come and how he uses his
life experiences to mentor youths and inspire change, himself a prime example of a
positively changed man.
